welcome to the the unfields series! here you get a palette of downloadable field recordings at no cost. you are free to use these samples (under the terms described in this licence) to further your own sound experimentation and music production. the unfields are audio snapshots of the world that surrounds us, taken from the subjective point of view of the artist who recorded them. they are provided as is, without any processing, along with the inevitable imperfections which are inherent during this kind of recording procedure. the recordings are complemented by a series of pictures and a short text written by the author that illustrate the circumstances of the recording.

unfields05 - fidget - toy's noise

"yay! who doesn't like toys?! that's what i figured when i went to the
good ol' kaybee toystore in our local philly mall on 9th and market,
"the gallery mall" (which will smith as the "the fresh prince"
mentions in his late '80s debut hit "parents just don't understand."
that's where he goes to purchase his threads so he can look cool at
school.)

my mics are ever so slick and inconspicuous because they are worn like
tiny earbuds that look like headphones, so i was able to nonchalantly
record without getting weird looks or harassed. well, I might have
gotten some weird looks 'cause I am a grown woman playing with the
talking toys over and over again. doesn't matter 'cause these are
golden! i really hope you all enjoy this collection 'cause it's
chockfull of goodness and really un-pc wordly education tips for
youngsters. real american-like. ignorance is bliss! and bliss is
ever-so-fun, so enjoy!"
